Janie Hawley is a mother of 6 and grandmother who has been passionate about living a self-reliant lifestyle which includes, gardening, canning, preserving, animal husbandry, camping, and hard work. She is a Certified Master Gardener and Master Preserver through USU. Janie has been a keynote speaker at several large preparedness expos across the country as well as many community events. She has been featured on the Kate Dalley Radio Show as a preparedness expert, and has served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross where she is DAT/Disaster Action Team trained. She is also CERT trained through FEMA.
She and her husband, Bob have served a 2-year mission at the LDS Home Storage Center in southern Utah, helping families to obtain long-term food storage basics. Janie and Bob have coordinated many group orders for their community. For 35 years the Hawley’s have taught in many areas of preparedness, including, Gardening, Preserving, Food Storage Basics, Water Filtration, Sun Oven Cooking, as well as off-grid preparedness with Portable Solar Power.
